I’m a data and AI platform executive with a strong hands-on architecture background, focused on building AI-ready data platforms that are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.

I currently lead Data Intelligence at TOTVS, where my team designs and delivers platforms and engineering strategies for the AI era — enabling LLM and ML-driven products with strong foundations in governance, security, and operational excellence. My work includes defining architectures and practices to improve accuracy and trustworthiness, as well as strategies to reduce operational cost, including token usage optimization and cost-efficient distributed data processing.

Previously, I was CTO at Tail, where I led the creation of large-scale data engineering and ML-based products processing 4B+ new records per day. Tail was acquired by TOTVS in 2020.

My background combines large-scale distributed systems with deep research roots: my PhD work focused on ontologies and semantic data models, and I was an early practitioner of RDF and semantic technologies — foundations that are increasingly critical for modern AI systems (grounding, metadata strategy, governance, and trustworthy retrieval).

I’m a Java Champion, co-founder of SouJava, and a frequent speaker at international conferences such as QCon, JavaOne, OSCON, and Jfokus. I’ve also served on program committees for conferences including QCon London and QCon San Francisco.

I enjoy collaborating with engineers and leaders solving hard problems in data architecture, AI platform engineering, governance, and cost-efficient scalable systems.
